Finally on the map with their scorching first album for A&M (Earthshaker was their third overall), Californiaā€™s Y&T were ready to strike with their classic fourth record, 1982ā€™s Black Tiger.

Thirty years on, this ebook tells the story of how Black Tiger was made ā€“ in singer and lead guitarist Dave Menikettiā€™s own words. The ebook includes extensive audio of Meniketti describing how Black Tiger was recorded (at Ridge Farm studio in England) ā€“ including his comments on the albumā€™s tracks and on touring with AC/DC in 1982.

The ebook includes photos of the Black Tiger recording sessions from Menikettiā€™s personal collection.

Author Martin Popoff draws on three recorded interviews he did with Meniketti. Popoff also penned a new review of Black Tiger for the app, and an essay in which he argues that Y&T were a kick-ass NWOBHM band who, through no fault of their own, happened to be from San Francisco.
