They think they've finally broken me.

That I’m just an obedient piece of livestock now. Something to be leased out as a breeding animal, or rented to powerful men as a pleasure toy.

For now, I have to do what I’m told. I swallow my pride. I surrender myself to any free man who pays the fee. I endure their touch, and the shame of how my body reacts to it.

But my owners have missed something: Now that they’ve taken everything away, I have nothing left to lose. And beneath the mask of the obedient slave, I’m watching. I’m waiting. And I’m planning.

Because Canada is real. Freedom is real. And the only thing keeping me here is the fear that I can't make it on my own.

But to escape, I’ll have to become as ruthless as my captors. I’ll have to do things that I never thought I could.

And I’ll have to hurt people that I never expected to.

I told myself that freedom is worth any price.

But that was before I knew what it would cost me.
