The Bible Studies for Life: Students Daily Discipleship Guide helps each participant engage within group and personal Bible study. The Spring 2019 study focuses on: Finding Meaning (Unit 1): Whatās the point? Many people have asked this question. Solomon, who was the wisest and richest man on the planet, asked this question, too. He built an enormous empire, established trade with the surrounding nations, was highly respected, and lived a life of unrivaled luxury and pleasure. Yet with all he had, he found these things amount to nothing! Nothing, that is, apart from God. Letās join Solomon on his exploration of life āunder the sun.ā Weāll see clues along the way of the purpose and meaning God provides when we live life keeping our perspective āabove the sunāāset on eternal things. Weāll be both challenged and encouraged to see how wonderful our God is and how much He wants for us to enjoy this brief life Heās given us. He Said What? (Unit 2): Most of us are familiar with things Jesus did. He walked on water, fed thousands with only a few fish and rolls, healed the blind, and died on the cross. Weāre equally familiar with many things He said, such as love God, love your neighbor, fear not, and do good. These make perfect sense, but Jesus also said other things that are a little harder to grasp: sell everything you own, love your enemies, and hate your parents. These teachings are difficult, but we would be wise to understand why Jesus said them. As we dive into these hard sayings, weāll find that, although they may seem counter-intuitive, weāll find they include key truths about the abundant life Jesus promises to those who follow Him.
